Father's Day Pictures for Dad

Below are more pictures that Lauren took of Grant. These pictures were special pictures taken for Andrew for Father's Day since he is such a big Cardinal's fan!

6 Months Old

Grant was 6 months old on Friday! We went to the Dr. on Thursday and he got 3 shots. He did not appreciate them at all and yelled at the nurse after. He now weighs 16 pounds 4 oz ( 25 percentile) and is 27 inches long (75 percentile). Grant is still eating really well (2 meals a day with baby food) and we bought stage 2 foods to start this week. He also had his first taste of formula yesterday and wasn't too crazy about it (he just eats way too much now for me to keep up with him- 7 to 10 oz when he gets a bottle). The Dr. said he must have a really fast metabolism (he obviously got that from his Dad and not me).

This week he has really started moving around by rolling over repeatedly and inching and pulling on things to get around. We never know where he will end up when we leave him on the floor for a few minutes.

The pictures above were taken by my friend Lauren. Thanks Lauren-they turned out great!

Weekend-Part 2

Busy Weekend! Birthday Parties and BBQs

We had a very busy weekend. We had 2 birthday parties on Saturday (Happy Birthday Colton and Steven!) and 2 BBQs on Sunday. We had a lot of fun and are very tired today. Grant and his buddy Ryan had matching outfits on at the BBQ at The Peels.

I love this outfit one of our friends sent from New Orleans. Andrew is not so crazy about Grant wearing John Johns but I love it! He wore this to Colton's birthday party and looked too cute!

Falling Asleep While Eating

Recently Grant has been falling asleep while in his highchair in the middle of a meal. I have to say it is pretty darn cute!

Gymboree

Grant is almost 6 months now. He is sitting up like a champ (still falls over once in a while) and loves to eat. He still really enjoys his vegtables and oatmeal. The new vegtable he really likes is green beans. He now grabs for anything he sees and sits in the highchair at restaurants (which he really seemed to enjoy since he is so nosey). Swim lessons are going great-he is such a water baby and spent more time under water this last lesson. He kicked like crazy when the instructor put him under and moved him towards me. It was too cute. The pictures above is Grant and one of his girlfriends Sophie at Gymboree class.

First Swim Lesson

Yesterday Grant had his first swim lesson and he did great! It was so fun to see Grant in the water. He really enjoyed himself and wasn't scared at all. We worked on kicking our legs, floating (he was floating in his sleeping pose with his hands behind his head), rolling over from back to tummy AND going UNDER the water! It didn't even phase him. He went under water several times and he never coughed or cried. It seemed so natural to him. It was just scary for mom! Thanks Lauren for letting us use your beautiful pool and the cupcakes were yummy!
Grant enjoyed playing on the float

Sophie, Ryan and Grant. Mason is missing from the picture because he needed a nap and Leila is in Paris. They will be in the pool with us next week!

Grant was so tired but very happy after swim lessons were over

Grant and Daddy

Grant and Mommy

Our neighborhood pools opened today for the summer. We were very excited about taking Grant to the pool for the first time. Grant is starting Mommy and Me swim lessons this Tuesday so we thought we would introduce him to the pool before his first lesson. Of course it took forever to pack everything up, get lathered in sunscreen and make sure we had all necessary supplies for our big trip down the street. As we walked to the pool I told Andrew to remind me to take his regular diaper off before we got in the pool (His swim trunks that Grandma Muller had bought him had a built in swim diaper, but I thought I better be safe and leave the regular one on until we got there). Good thing we did!!! As I grabbed him out of the stroller I noticed poo on his new swim shirt! YUCK!! He had a major blowout on the way there. I quickly put my big bag up to block him (so no one could see the mess) as I took off his clothes and tried to clean him up. Andrew then had to take the trunks and swim shirt to the bathroom to wash them off before he could go into the pool. When we finally got in the pool it didn't last long-Grant was ready to eat and take another nap, but we are still glad we went. We can't wait for our first swim lesson Tuesday with our friends!
