2nd Birthday Party at Gymboree

Yesterday was Grant and Mason's Birthday Party at Gymboree. Both of the birthday boys had a blast-even though Grant had been up since 4:30am and was going on no nap. I actually couldn't have asked for it to go any better. We had about 18 --18 month-2 1/2 year olds there from Grant's 2 playgroups and friends. It was a monkey theme since Mason and Grant are 2 little monkeys-"Monkey See, Monkey Do!".Dad, Grant and Mom with the cake before guests arrived

2nd Birthday-Take 1

Grant has had a busy week of celebrating his birthday! He had his first cake last Saturday with my family, his next cake on his actual birthday with us and my parents, cookies at school on Thursday and then his last cake yesterday at his birthday party at Gymboree (another post to come!). He keeps singing the Happy Birthday song because he has heard it so much-which is actually pretty cute! He had his 2 month check up on Friday-Stats- Head-19inches-75%, weight-26.5-25%-takes after his dad, and height 35 inches (though they told me 35.5 but wrote 35)-75%. He seems to be growing just fine and the Dr. said everything looks good. In the past couple of weeks he seems to say new words and phrases all the time. He understands so much more and surprises us everyday. Grant makes us laugh all the time. He has started saying thank you without prompting him like to waitresses when they put chips on our table-love that! Grant continues to love being outside and helping his Dad around the house with projects. Going potty on the big boy potty is a big interest right now. He asks all the time and is doing really well with it...Mom is just not totally ready..want to wait until after the baby arrives and we are in some sort of routine.
Here are a bunch of pictures from his birthday

On his birthday with his Elmo and Mickey cake

Playing with his new Dancing Mickey before bed-he loves him

In his new swing in the backyard-one of Grant's favorite things to do!

Taking pictures with his new Elmo camera

Testing out his new truck

I LOVE this picture my Dad took! So happy in his truck-he loves to push the accelerator-still working on the fact he has to steer!

He kept yelling for "Cheapy"-Chief- to get in the back. He would get out and run after Chief and then yell "Cheapy sit" while he pointed to where he wanted him to sit. Finally we just picked him up and put him in. Chief was a good sport.

With his new rolling Mickey backpack-Grant loves to pull luggage

With Grandma and Grandpa Muller in front of the Christmas tree before they left for the airport. We had such a nice visit with them!

Wild Animal Park

Last year for Grant's 1st birthday we went to the Wild Animal Park in Alvin for the 1st time and had a wonderful time. I think we laughed through the whole trip! So we decided to go back again this year while my family was here. Grant was really into it this time. He wanted to feed all of the animals and kept yelling "pet" to them because he wanted them to come close to pet them. He also would wave bye to them. It was so fun to watch him ...definitely different from a year ago. Getting ready to feed the animals with grandpa or as Grant says papa. He wasn't afraid of them at all.

Feeding the dear-he went right up to them. He mainly wanted to drop the food for them..wasn't sure for them licking his hand.

Grant reaching to feed the animal-not sure what this was

I LOVE this picture my Dad took! Precious picture for my little man.

Visit to Santa

Last weekend while my parents and sister were here we decided to take the kids to Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa. Last year Grant did great for Santa pictures and was very happy....this year...he was scared to death of him. While we were in line we talked about sitting on his lap and smiling for the camera-he seemed like he was on board until it was our turn. Practice picture with Dad and the snowman
Our turn-he put on the brakes and didn't want to let go. I guess I am the mean mom who put him on his lap anyway.

Gripping to my neck for dear life

Not so happy

Really upset now

I did NOT want to be in the picture (due to lack of makeup and hair), but that was the only way we were going to get him to take a picture without screaming!

Here we go again..pictures with his cousins Madeline and Caroline. Caroline doesn't care for Santa either.

I can't help but to love this picture!

After we were done torturing him with Santa, he got to drive some boats. He loved this.
