8 Months Old

Grant turned 8 months old today. I know I say this all of the time but... "Time Is Flying By"! I can't believe how big he is getting. New things about Grant....
1. He stands up on everything now! You can't leave him alone in a room without him pulling up on something or finding something he shouldn't to put in his mouth. One of his favorite things are power cords (which he has in his mouth right now!) and shoes. We think he will be walking before he learns to crawl right!
2. He is eating Stage 3 Foods now and meat. Trying new fingers foods all the time and he likes almost everything. He is now getting 1 formula bottle a day. We just started 3 meals a day now (only did lunch and dinner before a couple of days ago) and now only do 4 feedings a day of formula/breastmilk.
3. Wearing size 3 diapers-Pampers. We tried Huggies and they didn't work for him-leaked almost every time.
4. He loves his dog-Chief. Grant crawls after him constantly and loves to pet him. He just looks at him and laughs. Chief has been great with him also. He brings him his toys and likes to lick him. Unfortunately, Grant also likes to chew on Chief's toys.

My sweet sleepy baby!

Chief tries to jump in the tub with Grant almost every night. He has only has done it a few times, but I let him in the other night to get pics!

Grant loves his doggy. He cracks him up!

He also loves to help mommy with laundry.

One of his favorite places-under the side table!

He can't get enough of his tongue this week. Sticks it out the side of his mouth all the time.

Other Pics

A couple of weeks ago we went to the park and went swinging the first time. He loved it!

This picture was from this past weekend. Andrew went upstairs to check on Grant and he was standing in the crib for the first time. Andrew had to move the crib down to the lowest level right then. (Bad picture quality because this was taken with the camera phone.)

Crawling-Army Style

Grant using his inhaler to feel better. He was such a trooper!
The only picture where you can see his bottom teeth.

Grant's new "boy face" he makes. He wrinkles up his nose and looks so mean!

Hanging out at the children's museum

Mason and Grant talking about crawling.

Mason encouraging Grant to get up on his knees and hands and off his belly!

Last week Grant officially started crawling! He got up on his knees rocking back and forth and moving forward the week before, but he then decided he could move a lot faster if he got on his forearms and army crawled. He is actually pretty fast and can get from one room to another this way. Grant still gets on his knees and hands to start but then changes over to his forearms. Cell phones, laptops and remote controls are his favorite things to crawl after. He has also mastered sitting up from laying down and pulling himself up from sitting to standing on his own (he started that a couple of weeks ago but is good at it now!). Grant has been tasting new finger foods this week also-cheese, bread, white fish, baked potatoe and hamburger meat and he loves puffs and Cheerios!

Last week Grant also had his first "sick" visit to the doctor. He had bronchitis and kept us up almost every night during the week. When we went to the Dr. he weighed 17 pounds 4 ounces so he has gained about a pound in 6 weeks. The pictures above are a variety of pics from the past couple of weeks.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July! Saturday morning we all went to the pool and in the afternoon we had people over to grill out. That night we headed to the Amphitheater in the neighborhood to listen to a band and watch fireworks. This morning we found another tooth in Grant's mouth (still can't get a picture!) and he has started saying Mama (finally-since he has been saying DaDad for weeks). He isn't crawling but gets around by scooting/falling and rolling. He also does this funny thing were he gets up in a push up position and rocks and moves his toes forward. This weekend he also got to chew on pizza crust and loved it! Mommy, Daddy and Grant in the backyard

Owen and Beth listening to the band.

Grant wore himself out dancing to the music and he fell asleep before the fireworks. Andrew woke him up when they started and he really liked them. He then fell asleep again before they were over.

My friend Courtney watched Grant this past week while I was at work. Grant and Mason looked like twins playing together from behind.

From the front-Mason and Grant playing together.

Visit from the Outback

This past week our great friends who moved to Australia right before Grant was born came to visit. We were so excited for The Clark Family to meet Grant and for us to meet their newest addition Molly! We had a wonderful and busy 5 days hanging out with them and our friends the Weishaupts who came in from New Orleans. We are so glad we all got to hang out like old times. Thanks for making the long trip-we can't wait to see you guys again!

We have discovered that Grant really likes Molly's toes

He just can't get enough of them

Some tummy time together on Andrew.

Grant new love is water bottles. These past few weeks he gets so excited when he sees one. Whenever he goes running with me I give him one to play with.
