Sprinkler Fun

I had to do more more post...these were taken after I did my post on Grandma and Grandpa's house. These are some funny pictures my Dad took of my mom and Grant playing in the backyard. Splashing around

Showing a little crack..hehe...too funny! Love those cheeks:)

So happy!

Love the look on his face

...and again

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Rock Island. Besides going to the train festival (and eating lots of my favorite pizza-Happy Joe's), we went to the zoo, took a little boat ride on the Mississippi and played outside. We had a such a nice visit and I am sad it had to end-these trips always go way too fast:( In my parent's backyard

On the carousel-once again Grant was a little unsure at first but then ended up liking it by the end.

On another train, but at the zoo this time. He asked to ride it the whole time we were there.

Loves to stand up these days

Chief was with us too and loved to be outside with everyone

The Train Festival

Friday we flew home to Illinois with the boys AND the dog. Though we were very worried, the trip went really well and everyone even napped on the 2nd flight to Rock Island. Yesterday we got to take Grant to the Train Festival with my parents. He loved to hear the whistles go off and kept asking to ride one. Here are some pics from the day. Grandpa and Grant ready for the 1st train to go by

Baby Bryce all dressed up and ready in his train outfit "Bama" bought him. He looked so cute in it!

Me and happy Bryce

Me, "Bama"-what Grant calls my mom, Sleepy Bryce and Grant

Grant spent most of the time on Andrew's back b/c he wanted to be held most of the time

Bryce-6 month updates

Bryce was 6 months old last Monday:) Here are all of his updates and what he has been up to.
Stats-Dr said he is a very healthy little boy who has a fast metabolism-just like his Daddy and big brother:)
Weight- 15 pounds 4 oz-20%
Height-26 inches-50%
Head-19 1/4-50%
Diapers- Size 2-3
Clothing size-wearing 9 month clothes in Carters , 6-12 in Gymboree and everything else somewhere between 6-9
Feeding-Still eating 5-6 times a day. The 1 bottle he gets a day in the evening is anywhere between 8-10 ozs and I still end up breastfeeding him right before bed. Hungry little boy!
Food-Not doing so great on baby food. He is just not crazy about it. He has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, bananas and gave him puffs the other day also. Only thing he actually has eaten a decent amount of was bananas and oatmeal. Dr. said he may just skip baby food and go to finger foods. I am taking a few days off of trying and will try again.
Sleeping-after getting sick AGAIN (poor 2nd child-getting all the germs from his brother) for almost 2 weeks he is back sleeping through the night! Hooray! He takes 2 good naps a day-one in the morning for about an hour and then a big one in the afternoon for 2-3 hours. Usually around dinner he gets fussy again and takes a short snooze.
Movement-Still rolling all of the place-can get from one side of the room to the other. He is sitting up pretty good now on his own, but still can't leave him alone (have to be there to catch after a bit). He is loving all of the new toys he can play with now that he is sitting up. Bryce still loves the door jumper and exersaucer. We can't really put him in the bumbo anymore because he gets out of it and I packed the activity mat up yesterday:(
Favorites-HE LOVES GRANT and Chief! His face lights up when he sees them! He can't get enough of his brother talking or singing to him. I wish I would have gotten on video the other day of the 2 of them laughing at one another. Grant would go to grab him and laugh and then Bryce would belly laugh. Grant always sings to him if he starts crying in the car -too sweet! Grant loves his brother too and always wants to be touching him. I hope they will be best friends some day:) Bryce also loves to pet Chief. Other favorites are books-in his mouth, frozen teethers to chew on, links, door jumping and being held.
Bryce is still a very happy easy going baby and we are so lucky to have him! He is having his 6 month pictures taken tomorrow so stay tuned for those.
Looking at his brother while playing-he loves this toy too

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! We had a great 4th of July weekend! Dinner with friends, Galveston Beach, swimming, hanging out at the house and concert on the hill-a very busy weekend but very nice. Here are a few of the pictures-btw for some reason my blogger is formatting wrong and I can't write above the first picture so that's why I have had at do it this way for several posts-it also won't let me go back and edit after I publish if I find a mistake- so sorry for any typos.
Above is my little firecracker! He is standing so well now and puts all of his weight on legs. Can't stand by himself but will for a few moments against couch and loves to hold your hands and stand. He REALLY loves his door jumper now and jumps like a crazy man.
Had to get a picture in his bib. Thank you "Bama" for his 4th of July outfit and bib.
Kiddos running on the hill during the concert. No fireworks since the drought:(.
Eva, Mason, Grant and Will
Listening to the concert
In back-Travis and Allyson (Eva's parents), Trisha holding Sophia (just a couple of days younger than Bryce), Courtney holding Bryce and me and Grant. BTW Bryce sat up all by himself for a few moments at the concert with no support-almost there little buddy!
Best Buds-Mason and Grant holding hands and running. These two are either loving each other or beating each other up-just like brothers! Eva and Will are running in the back.
Grant and Mason-hanging out in their chairs

Galveston Beach

On Sunday we went to Galveston Beach for the day and had a great time. It was Bryce's first time at the beach and he enjoyed splashing the water in my lap (while I got sand everywhere-that is the one thing I hate about the beach-haha-the sand!).... And Grant LOVED it! He is really into sand right now so I brought a bunch of sand toys that kept him busy. What really surprised me though was how much he loved playing in the water. He has always been a water baby until this summer. Now he is not crazy about putting his head under water and is much more cautious (side note-we swam at the neighbors on Monday though and he did great:) ). We will definitely have to go back soon!
The picture above is NOT the best picture of any of us, but it was the best one I could find-as you can see it is not easy to get a good picture of all of us these days:(
